Two bombs weighing 20 kgs inside school defused

Yala - Police defused two home-made bombs weighing about two kilogrammes left inside the compound of a private school this (Friday) morning.

Pol Col Chaithat Inthanujit, commander of Muang district police station, said police were informed at 7 am that two suspicious objects were left inside the fence of Mana Suksa School in Yala’s Muang district.

Foods vendors in front of the school saw two teenagers climbed over the fence to place the two objects inside the school compound.

Chaithat said police used high-pressure water hose to spray the two objects and used mobile signal jamming equipment to cut signals in the area.

Police found that one object was suitcase stuffed with explosives, which was wired to a Nokia 3310 phone and the other was a plastic box with explosives and wired to another Nokia 3310 phone.

Chaithat said the two bombs had a combine amount of about 20 kilogrammes of explosives.

He said police would use check the owners of the two SIM cards to try to locate the terrorists.
